Shiv Shakti point
Chandrayaan-3 · August 2023 · on the Moon, 69.37° S, 32.32° E
India's first landing on the Moon, and the closest yet to the south pole. The Earth sits low in the north.
What is there
Vikram lander (Lander, ISRO)
Chandrayaan-3's lander, down on 23 August 2023: India's first landing on the Moon, and the nearest any craft had come to the south pole. Ten days later it fired its engines again and hopped about 40 cm, a test for bringing samples home one day. It was put to sleep as the long night fell and never woke.
Pragyan rover (Rover, ISRO)
The 26 kg rover that rolled down Vikram's ramp. In about 100 m of driving its laser found sulphur in the soil, measured right there on the surface for the first time. Asleep since September 2023 (shown about where it stopped).
