Terms of use

The short version: Stellingo is here to help you enjoy and understand the sky. Use it kindly, don't abuse it, and remember that it's a guide, not a navigation or safety instrument.

Agreeing to these terms

By using stellingo.com you agree to these terms. If you create an account, you also confirm you're at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country, if lower). Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

What Stellingo is

Stellingo shows the sky, the Moon, Mars and the Solar System, worked out from astronomical models and public data from NASA, ESA, CelesTrak, Open-Meteo and others. We take care to be accurate, but positions, timings, forecasts and 3D reconstructions are approximations and can be wrong or late — for example, a satellite's predicted pass, a cloud forecast or where a lander stands.

Don't rely on Stellingo for navigation, safety, scientific measurement or any decision where an error could cause harm. Never look at the Sun without proper protection, whatever Stellingo shows.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what's done with it. You can delete it at any time in Your account.

Using Stellingo fairly

Please don't:

  • try to break into, overload or disrupt Stellingo, or get around its security or limits;
  • copy large parts of it automatically (scraping), or re-sell it or its data;
  • use it to do anything illegal, or to harm others;
  • pretend to be someone else.

What belongs to whom

Stellingo's software, design, texts, illustrations and 3D models are ours or used under licence, and are protected by copyright. You may share screenshots and links for personal, educational and non-commercial use — we'd love you to.

Much of the data and imagery comes from public and open sources, which keep their own licences; the credits name them. Your own notes and observations remain yours.

Free and paid

Stellingo is free to use. If we offer a paid plan (Stellingo Plus), its price, what it includes and how to cancel will be shown clearly before you pay, and these terms will be updated with the details, including your right to withdraw where the law gives it.

Changes and availability

We improve Stellingo all the time, so features may change. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Liability

Stellingo is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for decisions taken from its information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of establishment within the European Union, without taking away the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in. If we change them, we'll update the date below and tell account holders before important changes take effect. Questions: groundcontrol@stellingo.com.
